San Francisco Chronicle Article on my Front Yard, Camp Yale

Here's a photo from the SF Chronicle - two boys writing over a projected image on our white board in the front yard.

The San Francisco Chronicle ran a big feature article on my front yard and Camp Yale. Check it out on the Chron’s web site, sfgate.com.

I’ll be writing a series of articles soon on the yard’s features, how we use it, and what we did at Camp Yale, but this article presents a pretty good overview.

Loved the article. My son plays outside from 9am till dark almost everyday. The kids on the block have been doing this since they were 5 (now 13). It is interesting how the kids grow and change. I don’t want him out with one boy anymore now that he is going to be a sophmore and has had some drug experience. My stomach turns when I see him out there with the rest of the new kids (younger and older).
I knew he would be trouble because his parents were never out there watching him. I guess they felt if I was there they need not be. Just keep a look out for the ones that have no parent involment!!!
