I have a very good reason to be so focused on childhood happiness. My mom was severely depressed throughout my childhood, and in fact, during her entire life, until she dramatically turned her life around after my dad left her, a few years before she passed away. I somehow managed to escape all this sadness and have a happy childhood, but it definitely left its mark. I’m very clear that nothing is more important in life than happiness.
Below is a documentary video I shot a few years ago telling that story. My narration is a bit wooden, but otherwise, I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s pretty long (~45 minutes), but most people tell me they can’t stop watching after seeing the first few minutes. Tell me what you think!
